 WEEKLY REFLECTION 1

As part of the 2023-25 B.Ed curriculum, the first phase of teaching practice started on Wednesday, 7th August 2024. Our group of 10 members reached Mannam Memorial Higher Secondary School, Vilakudy, at 9:30 AM and began activities under the guidance of the Headmaster and subject teachers.

On the first day (07/08/2024), during the 2nd period, I taught the topic Product of Sums from the chapter Multiplication Identities to Class 9A. I used teaching aids such as charts and activity cards, which helped make the lesson interactive and engaging for the students.

On the second day (08/08/2024), during the 7th period, I continued the topic Product of Sums with a focus on problem-solving. Charts and activity cards were again used to enhance comprehension.

On the third day (09/08/2024), Friday, during the 2nd period, I taught Special Operation to the same class, using a variety of tools such as images, slides, charts, and activity cards. The session was well-received, with students participating enthusiastically. Additionally, that day, events were conducted for classes 5 to 10 to commemorate Hiroshima and Nagasaki Day. These included a quiz competition, where winners were announced, and a poster-making contest, with the best entries selected and awarded.

The week’s teaching practice concluded successfully, with excellent support and cooperation from the teachers and students. During this time, I successfully executed three lesson plans.
